The Vault Compared to Traditional Delivery Methods
1. Email is Not Secure
When files are attached to an email that is sent outside your firm's network they can be viewed by other parties, including your client’s competitors. In order for attachments to travel securely to recipients outside your firm you must painstakingly install and maintain problematic email certificate licenses. What's worse, every person you wish to send secure email to must also install and maintain those difficult security certificates!
The Vault allows you and your clients to safely exchange files. Every file is encrypted using the latest 128 to 256 bit encryption algorithms (depending on your browser). And best of all you and your clients don't have to do a thing. All the security measures are automatically handled by the system.
2. Email Imposes File Size Limits
All email servers have a set size limit ("policy") for attachments that can be processed. This size limit is commonly between 5MB and 10MB. If a person tries to send you an email with an attachment that exceeds the policy limits the email may simply be rejected without notifying either party. This is especially problematic when the party is one of your clients trying to send you a critical financial file!
You and your clients can exchange extremely large files, even huge 200 megabytes files through the Vault because, unlike email, it was designed from the ground up to securely transfer very large files.
3. FTP is Inflexible and Administration Intensive
While FTP (File Transfer Protocol) servers do not have the same file size limitations and security problems of email, they require a system administrator to set up and maintain each company-to-company relationship and user passwords individually. This results in FTP being a cumbersome and inflexible solution for exchanging files with multiple outside parties.
The Vault is extremely easy to manage. No administrator is required. In fact, your clients can register themselves with the Vault's moderated new client registration system.
4. Overnight Courier is Expensive (FedEx, Priority Mail...)
Long the accepted standard for moving confidential financially sensitive material between organizations and/or their individual clients, using an overnight courier is expensive and still too slow in today’s fast paced business environment.
The Vault is included with your website. It doesn't cost you or your clients anything to use. And files and documents are transferred in minutes instead of having to wait for the next morning. Instant file transfer allows your staff to meet otherwise unattainable deadlines by working right up to the last minute.
