Blog Page Frequently Asked Questions
I tried to add the Blog page to my website by following the instructions provided but when I click on “Add Page” I cannot find the Blog page.
The reason you are not getting the option to add the Appointments page to your site is because you are on our previous hosting solution.
With our new hosting solution you will have access to many more site styles and additional content. The upgrade is free and you will gain access to all the great new features, styles and content available. To upgrade please call us at (800) 896-4500 and ask an account manager to update your account.
My Blog page works on the live version of my site (www.yourdomain.com) but when I go to my Virtual URL I am getting a “404 Not Found” Error.
So that search engines such as Google and Yahoo can find and index your blog postings we had to set up some redirects that allow your blog posting to appear as web pages and not database entries. These redirects are based on your domain name (www.yourdomain.com) and not your Virtual URL which is why the link is broken on your Virtual URL.
Can I import a 3rd part Blogging Software into my website?
You can not import any software into your website
Can I import Posting from a Blog posting I have elsewhere?
Yes, through simple copy and pasting you can import in your posts. This must be done one at a time. Also, you should only copy in the wording and not the coding.
Can I access or import blogs though my FTP?
No, your Blogs are stored on a separate database that has nothing to do with your FTP Client. You can only edit your postings through the “blog” page on your website
Can I have more than one Blog Page?
No, because your Blog page stores your postings in a seperate database. At this time it is not possible to enable multiple databases
If I delete my Blog page will I loose all of my content?
No, since your blog postings are kept on a separate database all of your content should populate again should you decide to use it again. The only catch is that you must have published the content on your blog to be able to retrieve it. If you did not publish it, you will not be able to get it back.
Why can’t clients add comments to my blog like a typical Blog?
We have decided against allowing others to post on your blog because they could post incorrect tax advice tips and comments which could bring on added liability to your firm. If you desire the ability to have others post comments on your blog please consider adding a link to your blog asking them to send comments to an email address and you can add them as you see fit.
