Beautiful Summer Day in Vermont

Beautiful Summer Day in Vermont

After reading all the other bios out there, I am not sure that I can be as witty, creative or imaginative as all of the fantastic tech savvy, web designers in our company, but then again… What do you expect from an accountant!?

Just kidding, as most of you reading this are accountants… No offense, just some good old accounting humor.

Thanks for letting me introduce myself, I am so thrilled to be part of this amazing Company. This Company has been part of my life for years, though I have only become actively involved in the past few years.

I met Brian at Babson College and from day one of freshman year orientation have been enamored by him. He is an extraordinary individual who gives 110% of himself in everything he does. CPA Site Solutions is truly his passion and it shows every day in his commitment to the Company and the extraordinary service delivered to our clients by our talented staff.

I used to feel insulted when Brian would say on Sunday night, “Yes, tomorrow is Monday morning, my favorite day of the week.” He loves going to work and his work ethic and joy are some of the greatest gifts he has bestowed on our family. Do what you love and make every day count! Jim Fox said, “Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.”

I am a CPA in the State of Vermont. I was born in the Bronx, raised in Westchester county by a very New York City based family. I met Brian in college and stayed in Boston upon graduation working for Ernst & Young (Ernst & Whinney, at the time – Dating myself, huh? At least it was not Ernst & Ernst, right?)

One day, we received a flyer in our mailboxes (again dating myself… before the days of email, IM, twitter….) that stated Ernst would be opening a Burlington, Vermont office. Anyone interested in joining this office, please see the Managing Partner.

I took the flyer and threw it away, knowing that if I let Brian see it, we would be moving to Vermont. And, what is a New York girl suppose to do in Vermont? Anyway, long story short, Brian heard about the office, he had ties to Burlington and always wanted to move back, and this was our opportunity to start a new life in one of the most beautiful places around.

The rest, as they say, is history, we moved to Burlington 20+ years ago and have loved every moment.

As Brian worked on starting his new ventures, someone needed to pay the rent. I continued working for Ernst & Whinney until they “consolidated” the Burlington office, wanting us back in Boston, Manchester or Albany.

Not wanting to leave, I took a position with the Banknorth Group in Burlington and spent 10 years as the Controller of this great bank. Again, faced with the ever-consolidating nature of the banking business, I found myself with the option of moving or leaving.

With two young children and great opportunities within CPA Site Solutions, I left corporate America and have never looked back. From my mid high school years, I have always known (sad but true) that I wanted to be an accountant and now I get to work with a Company that supports so many great accountants and CPAs.

I found the job I love and will never have to work a day in the rest of my life.

Brian and I have been blessed with a fabulous family. Our children, Kaitlin (16) and Brandon (13) are truly the joys in our lives. We love being active as a family: biking, hiking, tennis, golf and traveling.
