Heleigh Bostwick

Heleigh grew up in Williston, but left at the age of 17 to experience the big wide world.

First she headed to Connecticut College to study botany. Her next stop was Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania where she obtained a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.

She stayed in the “City of Brotherly Love” for another 10 years designing estate gardens and working in the engineering consulting field as an ecologist writing technical reports and environmental impact statements for clients in the utility and transportation industries.

When Heleigh was offered a similar job in San Juan, Puerto Rico she took it. She lived on “la Isla” for a year (and loved every minute of it) before returning to the states and taking up a new career as a jewelry cataloguer at a New York City auction house.

A few years later her [now 7-year old] twin girls Leslie and Lauren were born and Heleigh returned to Williston with her girls, taking up yet another career–freelance writing, which she’s found to be perfectly suited to her new life.

In her spare time she grows culinary herbs, frequents the Richmond Farmer’s Market, practices yoga, and teaches her children about the natural world.
